Preacher Rains Hellfire on Shawnee State Campus

Abstract:
Many students were baffled on their walk to class Wed. and Thu. when a man wearing a sandwich board that read "Repent or Perish" was spreading his religious beliefs through what many considered an unorthodox method. The man, who said his name was Tracy Mays, shouted lines such as "I am here to judge" and "I am without sin....

Settle said. "If you disagree with the demonstrator's point of view, express your disagreement in a civil manner, discuss your point of view with the demonstrator and fellow students, or simply walk away from the demonstrator."

Bravo, Dr. Settle, bravo!
Civil discourse is the hallmark of a mature and well informed citizen. Shouting, arm-flapping, and pandering to a crowd of like-minded tools is not.

Abby Teske is quoted as saying that jesus did not call people out on their sins and he was all love. Umm, have you even freaking read your bible?? jesus totally called people out. The prostitute and the Phareses/Saducese (SP???) come to mind. How is this for calling people out, "...you serpents and vipers....", "....you are of your father the devil....."? jesus was a very violent individual, he was not all love, peace, hippy and flowers. The buy-bull is a bunch of crap, yes. But jesus certainly did preach on hellfire and brimstone. I love these "christians" that cry and boo-hoo over campus preachers. The campus preachers, though they are [explitive deleted] insane, are preaching what the buy-bull says.

Very good article. It is not only a free speech issue. It is also a freedom of religion issue, and a freedom of press issue. I was excercising those 3 constitutional rights.

I want to add that what the rep for Campus Crusade for Christ said, is wrong. Jesus did tell sinners they were going to Hell, unless they repent. He is the first to say the word Hellfire. Also Jesus was nailed to the cross, because of what he said. Matthew ch 5:21-22, & ch 12:34-35, Luke 13:2-5. Those are a few, there are many more.
