In the age of iPads, Kindles and Nooks, many students will still find themselves relegated to purchasing physical copies of textbooks, whether they like it or not. Though this may seem discerning to some, digital textbooks have a long way to go before they catch up.

Math Scholarship Adds Up

SSU has plenty of new things coming this year for its students, including more opportunities of all varieties. One such opportunity has sprung from the efforts of the dedicated members of the Math Department in the form of the Ferguson-Hamilton-Knox Math Scholarship.

Financial Aid, Bursar, Registrar Merge

If you're returning to school this week and trying to find the offices of the Bursar, Financial Aid, or Registrar you might be a little turned around. The three offices moved in early July to prepare for the next step of construction in the University Center.

Reading Writing Center Now Open

The SSU Reading and Writing Center is open for the semester and willing to help students who are in need of grammatical or composition assistance.

Tutoring is open to everyone and appointments are not required. Typically, the Reading and Writing Center has two tutors on-site at all times who will be willing to help students become better acquainted with certain principles and rules of grammar, in addition to simply aiding students in the formatting, creation and revision of papers; assisting students in the realization of the big picture, providing them with a skill-set that will aid them through the remainder of their college career.

Math Lab Open For Tutoring

Shawnee provides a multitude of services for its students and many of them are conveniently located on campus. Should a student need help, have some questions, or just simply want a little advice, such can be provided for nearly every subject or course offered at SSU.
